In witness whereof, we, the Senior class, have set our signatures and seals hereto this Zlpth day of May in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty-one. A .l!.L 2 SM is One frosty winter night, Cin the year 19615 Jack Frost and I set off for the Far East in his 'Jet-O-Maticn helicopter. By accident we hit a landing field and after wandering aroundlalf in a daze and half lost we were escorted to Mnking by Dick Thompson, a salesman for the '61 Bickshaw. He was accompanied by a flock of Cocnlies one of whom was Darwin Rugglesa the second Einstein, working on a theory of how many feet in a mile. Upon arriving we discovered that our clothes were badly in need of pressing. We walked into the nearest tavern, owned and operated by Max Kain. While there we were entertained by HBubblesW Vander Leest in this country commonly'known as Dolores After translating street signs we found the UHang-Me-Shirtu laundry, where we were welcomed by Pete Myers, the chief ironer, with anopen hand and hot iron. We followed the Yellow River towards Shanghi. As we sailed down the river on Bob French's junk we gazed upon millions of rice paddles and upon inquiry we found that they were owned by Lawrence and Loren Verwers. We were given a dwicious dhnnr and sent upon our way. Only a few miles down the way we saw Melvin wicker pulling in his daily catch of goldfish. As we entered the port of Shanghi we sought out for the nearest hotel. Upon signing the register we found the hotel was owned by the former Marjorie Birkenholz. we were esnrmd to our rooms by the bell hop, Elva Lou Furnoy. Later we made preparations to start back to the U. S. On our ship we were treated for snsktmess by Gladys Roberts, the head nurse. We were treated like kings on our ocean linen which made our trip very enjoyable. We were entertained by the music of Joyce Jabaai, who had been on a tour of Europe. After this enjoyable floor show we were taken on a tour of the ship by the Captain's wife, Betty Jo Osborn. A few minutes later we landed in the U. S. in time to see the crowning of Faye De Reus, WMiss America of l96l.n we were then driven to our home by the former Bettye Headlee, now married to the automobile tycoon of the world, Mr. J. welcher. We were tired from our sqsrience, but were happy to know that we had seen the entire Class of '5l. f4S?i::::1gNN --g bQ:::f'-C1211 5 oy W' -:. In contrast to these delightful people are the unhappy Kirbys. The plot shows how Tony, attractive young son of the Kirbys, falls in love with Alice Sycamore and brings his parents to dine at the Syca- more home, on the wrong evening. The shock sustained by the Kirbys, who are invited to eat cheap delicatessen food, shows Alice that mar- riage with Tony is out of the question. The Sycamores, however, though sympathetic to Alice, find it hard to realize her point of view. Mean- time Tony, who knows the Sycamores are right and his own people wrong, will not give her up, and in the end Mr. Kirby, at least, is convert- ed to the happy madness of the Sycamores, particularly since he hap- pens in during a visit by an ex-Grand Duchess earning her living as a waitress. No mention has as yet been made of the strange activities of certain members of the houadmid engaged in the manufacture of fire- works, nor of the printing-press set up in the parlor, nor of Rheba the maid and her friend Donaldg nor of Grandpa's interview with the income tax collector when he tells him he doesn't believe in the in- llll D ' my f , N 001116 tax n I - afuqlx Zy- Nmfif ff gl .
