CLASS HISTOH fa.. Q L s I ' On a bright sunny day on September 5, 1952 thirty-one eager, open-eyed children faced their new teacher, Miss Florence Gittlh- ger for thelr first day of learning. Of the thirty-one, eleven of the original class remained to graduate in 1945, namelygE11se Bultenwerf, Joan Dewlt, Cecil Fifer, Clarence Gilbert, John Barry Kane, Lowell McFadden, Lawrence McFadden, Keith McFadden, Harold Robe ts, Harold Timmons and Raymond Steenhoek. I In '41 we started our first year in Prairie City High School with thirty-five new classmates: Ralph Birkenholtz, Marjorie Brlles, Betty Buckingham, Elise Bultenwerf, Harold Dalton Wanda Lea'De Bruyn, Lester De Vries, Joan De Wit, Cecll Fifer, blarenpe Gilbert, Pete Gu1l1ng,Ray Decker, Nettie Helm, Thayne Jack, Wayne Kaln, John Barry Kane, Keith McFadden, Lawrence McFadden, Lowell McFadden, Henry Plate, Ronald Riley, Harold Roberts,Audrey Schae- kelgord, Marc1a Ann Schuttlnga, Irene S+eenhoek,Raymond Steenhoek Marilyn Strain, Harold T1mmons,Joe T mu1ns,Wenda1l Travis, Robert Vanderhart, Alberta VanHorn, Robert Vannyswyk, Wilbur Van Ryswyk, and Joan Van Zee. In the fall of '42 twenty-nine scho1ars,who had lost some pf their tlmidlty and gained some dignity, started their sophomore year. Six of our former classmates d1dn't return. ' We began the junior year with everyone except Henry Plate Irene Steenhoek, and Pete Gulling. Thus we ended the junior year with great anticipation of the coming school term.
