Servants Unto All presented by THE SENIOR CLASS 1954 Prairie Bible Institute d Our years at PRAIRIE have been decisive in spiritual battles and rich in blessing. To call to mind the friends and scenes associated with these trials and triumphs, this booklet has been compiled. The class¬ rooms, the worship services, gratis work, our Junior Banquet, and our Senior meetings—all remind us of God’s claim upon our lives, the reason we came to Prairie. As we now separate and joyfully turn to our appointed spheres of service for the Master, God grant that each of us shall say, “I have made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.” fBBEBBB! J scliaation To the Prairie Bible Institute, never to be forgotten for its moulding power in our spiritual lives through the Christ-like example and selfless service of its Staff, we, the Senior Class of 1954, gratefully dedicate this book. Class members form six main committees which work together to plan and produce the annual Junior- Senior Banquet and Program, the climax of the school year, in honour of the Senior Class. Here we have the committees and the Class officers of the 1953 Juniors. Supper Motto Decoration Strictly behind the scenes 7 ze don±um mationl Preparation completed and plans perfected, the day of the Banquet arrived. But even perfect plans can be foiled—just ask the Decoration Committee! These ingenious artists, however, created crepe-paper substi¬ tutes for our late-arriving daffodils, and our guests were none the wiser. Organized confusion zSzz jant± unto Scurrying waiters became calm, sedate singers and speakers in a matter of a few moments as the banquet guests filed into the tabernacle for the traditional Junior Program. Hearts were refreshed, encouraged, and challenged as the Juniors of 1953 told what it means to be Christ’s “servants unto all.” CLASS POEM A Servant unto All A servant? No. How oft I shirk the strenuous toil, Distasteful work. How often do I seek to spare Myself from aught of tears and care. For others? Why? I owe them naught. ’Tis bothersome For me to drop My plans and pleasures, industry, And bear their burdens patiently. Oh, traitor base! How can I sing the praise of Christ Or call Him King? My words are false as Judas’ kiss If I refuse a life like His. For Jesus served. The King laid down His rank, His rights, His glorious crown. He, sinless from eternity, Stepped down into humanity. He chose on earth No life of ease; compassionate, He healed disease. He travailed in Gethsemane, Then bore cruel death to ransom me. Oh shame that I Should ever shirk! Let me be strong To do Thy work; Renouncing petty, selfish plans, May I, like Thee, have helping hands. A servant? Yes! I would not aim for higher place Than Thou didst claim. Help me to be, whate’er the call, A loving servant unto all. —Patricia McKerihan tt JPlz Sntxancs oj- Wo r iJi (Sfiuzili jCight” Always a time of heart-searching, blessing, and fellowship, the annual Spring Missionary Conference is antici¬ pated equally by students and friends of the school. Several meetings are held daily, during which missionary leaders and well-known speakers pre¬ sent the illuminating Word of God. With our beloved Principal, who pre¬ sides over the meetings, we have three of the speakers for 1954 pictured below.
