BHNGA ITIZEN Laffy Trent Janice Hancock Oklahoma citizens are noted for the art of getting along That is why we have such a wonderful state To be a good citizen of the state or nation, one must prepare himself whlle in school Prague High School is made up of many fine citizens, and Lhzs fine group of cxtizens is represented in our 1957 PRAGONIAN by two outstanding seniors, Janice Hancock and Larry Trent, for they have shown to us that a proper solution for a good citizen calls for character, good common sense, and knowledge not found in books From these solutions we learn sooner or later if we are wise, that life is a mixture of good days and bad, victory and defeat, give and take We learn that he who loses his temper loses out, and that carrying a chip on our shoulders' is the easiest way to get into a fight W learn that it doesn't matter so much who gets the credit so long as a goal is reached learn to sympathize with new students coming into the school, because we remember how bewildered ve were when we first entered learn not to worry when we lose an order, because experience has shown that if we always g1ve our best, our average will break pretty well Ve learn that no man ever got to first base alone, and that it is through cooperative effort that we move on to better things Without bragging, some of the best citizenship of Oklahoma is found in P H S Each school year affords each student this opportunity to become a good citizen Host of them realize that their mistakes and fears of yesterday need not be carried forward in the ledger of life The past holds no mortgage on today If we live up to these solutions demonstrated by Janice and Larry, our lives will be twice blessed as is the soil of Oklahoma
