First, was the continuation of the repair program, which had to do with heat and light conditions at both the high school and grade buildings. Second, the establishing of a counseling service which results in a rather careful analysis and selection by the faculty of subjects offer ed to the Prague high school students, and the building of a more or less permanent schedule in harmony with pupil needs in our community. The first major physical improvement had to do with the safety of the lives of the ounils. It consisted of removing all gas lines from under the floors of the south half of the high school building, as tnere was a real possibility that the breaking of old lines under the building, would permit gas to accumulate in the six inch space between the wood floors and the concrete. Such an accumulation of gas could very easily cause a serious explosion. In order to correct the matter the main gas line was run around on the outside of the building with pipe connections going through the wall to the gas unit. Additional needed heat was supplied to the grade building by the installation of a Rotary Reznor Unit, which is vented and thermostatically controlled.

SL kgs Ofof L so xx., fait VF In beginning the history of this year's achievements, we find the transportation improvements are perhaps the greatest. A fifth bus has been added which provides good service to almost all of our rural pupils by reducing the walking distance for many who were not well served This year there was a continuation of the modernization of the light- ing system in the Junior and Senior high school and with some additions this coming summer the entire building will have adeouate flourescent lighting, which will prevent much eye strain. A major effort is being made by the faculty toward modernizing the subjects offered in both the Junior and Senior high school. This will make it possible, vith a little planning on the part of both students and the office, for most pupils to enroll in a large percent of the desired subjects. The schedule with a few exceptions must be rather permanent in order that proper planning can be done for the entire four year high school course. This will be particularly true of those subjects offered in alternate years. A rather complete and definite Guidance Service in now being offered to high school pupils. This program consists of a battery of tests given to the student and a conference held with each individual student for the purpose of interpreting the results of the tests, and to make recommendations for future enrollments of the pupil. The school year has been one of real effort on the part of the faculty, Board of Education, student body and community, to give to the Prague community a good school system. Such cooperation will always pro- duce good results. , hx Son
