THE UNIN VI TED GHOST - A group of teenagers plan a surprise birthday party to be held in a haunted mansion where an unsolved murder was committed twenty years be- fore. A mysterious lady in black terrorizes the group. Who is she? And who are the strangers looking at the house? The teenagers manage to solve the crime and the mystery of the crying baby too. Gary Piercy earned an excellent ra ting for his humorous prose reading from The Secret Life Of Walter Mytty by James Thurber. Another excellent was received by Melissa Smith for her poetry reading. The duet acting team of Tracy Vanek and Brenda Belik selected a reading from Voices from the High School and earned a well-deserved superior rating. Drama! Speech 51

rama at P.H.S. SAGE OF SAGEBRUSH SAL was a melo- drama presented at the one-act play contest held at Peru Sta te. It was also presented as part of their spring play. It is the story of Sagebrush Sal KConnie Stavaj and her attempts to take over the Bloody Turnip Sa- loon, run by jake the Snake fScott Polacekj. Her daughter Hazeltine lMelissa Smithj finds true love with Heartbleed Haymeadow CGary Piercyj. It is the classic melodrama as narrated by Marlene Sousek which includes Cowboys, Indians and Can-Can Girls. BAND KEEPING T0 THE BEAT The band members were First row: Gary Piercy, Margaret Stanek, joey Nemec, Brian Kubik, Ryan Vanek. Second row: Becky McKesson, Stacy Hanis, Traci Kavan, Tammy Wirka, Deanna Houfek, Dale Peterson, Miss Beans. Third row: SlieriPaseka, Rabbi Koranda, DougHavlovic, GregMalina,jef1'Sousek. Last row: Elizabeth Nemec, Mark Ostry, Cory Piercy, Larry Koranda, T roy Kavan and Dwain Prochaska. This year was the start of the Prague Mar- ching Band. The Band marched at the Shrine Bowl Parade, the State Fair, and Grand Island's Harvest of Harmony. Among their oth er performances were Var- ious pep band appearances, including Girls District Basketball Tournament, Winter and Spring Concerts, District Music Contest, and Memorial Day services in Prague and Malmo.
