Above - Michelle uses her long arm of the law to scare IPQ an opponent. 24 Girls Basketball RUN RUN RUN The Lady Panthers Run to a Winn1'ng Season Although the 1986-87 Lady Panthers were in excellent shape, the much needed skills were absent at times. Their season started with a win over Cedar Bluffs which began their on and off year. The Pantherettes first loss came from C-l East Butler before Christmas. Another defeat to Silver Creek left the Lady Panthers with 3rd place at the Holiday Tournament hosted by Petersburg, The next two losses were against class C-1 Malcolm and Class C-2 Waterloo, Team effort! And a lot of hustle and determination was our key! , said Coach Tom Luxford. The Lady Panthers finished their season with a 7-game Winning streak before losing to arch-rival Snyder in sub-district finals at Cedar Bluffs. 'fWe Worked hard and played hard and lost as a unit! , said Coach Luxford of the Pantherettes 10- 5 record. Nevertheless the Lady Panthers ran to a successful basketball season.
