Student Council Running High on Activities U 'L-M Student Council Officers: President: Cory P., Treasurer: Darlene S., Secre- tary: Connie K., and Vice-President: Connie S, Running high on activities, Student Council keeps busy through the year. Some of the Student Council's major pur- poses in school are to represent the Student Body and to pro- mote student involvement. There are many activities that they put on for the high school. They sponsor a couple of dances through theyear one of which is the Sweetheart Dance in February where they pick Royalty. The King for this year was Chris Egr, the Queen - Melissa Smith, Prince - Brian Pro- chaslca, and the Princess - Marie McCullick. Student Council had a haunted house for a couple ofyears as a money raiser. They seem to always have a good turn out even though the rain has seemed to curse them. Student Council does one oth- er thing for their own excitement and to get new ideas. They go to S. C. Conventions held at different host schools. This year the Prague foot- ball team ended the year with a record of 8-2. The panthers also came home with a sta te runner-up trophy from the six- man sta te playoff The Panthers were running but not quite fast enough as Stratton came up ahead by six. As the buzzer sounded, the scoreboard read Stratton - 20 and Prague - 14. The fans roared, Number two on the charts but always number one in our hearts. This year Prague was rated 3rd in the Omaha World Herald. They beat 4 of the 5 top rated teams which all goes to prove the type of schedule the boys played, This year P.H.S, worked with a new coach. Many things changed. Coach Tom Luxford believes that the boys adapted to his new system well.
