Q- ' Dr. Paul Grijjfis This is the age of flying missiles. Since you entered Bible School new speed records of 17,500 miles per hour have been established. It must be that father timei' has taken his cue from science and has hitched his wagon to a space ship also, for these three years have certainly set a record pace. All too soon we will be referring to you as Hgraduatesv. I want you to know how much I have appreciated being your class teacher and advisor. While a teacher cannot afford to show favoritism, he can certainly be excused for having a particular affection for his own class. Your sincere devotion and dedication have been a great inspiration to me. Even without my special memory course, I would have difficulty in forgetting your loyalty to Christ, your faithfulness to the heavenly vision, and your courtesy and consideration toward me. When you came, you chose for your class verse, II Corinthians 4:5, We preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves, your servants for Jesus' sakef, Although, as I have indicated, I may be somewhat prejudiced, I honestly feel that you have been faithful to this high standard, exemplifying in your lives, the spirit of Christ and the spirit of humility. While we have studied the Bible, and theology, and homi- lectics, and Greek, the knowledge acquired in these studies is to one end, that we might preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord,', and to bring men to saving faith in Him. As you leave, I am reminded of Abraham who, uwhen he was called , obeyed his Lord and followed by faith not knowing whither he went. He did not know where he was going because he was not making the plans. He had abandoned his life to the will of God. But how much better it is to walk with Him by faith, than to walk alone by sight. I am surethat this same spirit of dedication to the will of God will character- ize your lives in the challenging days ahead. The class of '63 will never have a reunion upon earth with every member present, but through His grace, there will be a perfect and complete reunion some golden day- breakf, Until that hour, may the Lord bless thee and keep thee, may the Lord make His face to shine upon thee, and be gracious unto theeg may the Lord lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. Rev. Paul Griffis 26 I
