Seniors The Conquering Blood They overcame .... by the blood of the Lamb. --Rev. 12:11 The shed blood of the Lamb of God is the basis whereby sin, and death and Satan have been conquered. The message in Romans 3:23, For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, H is indeed a hopeless one. Especially, is this true when the realization of Romans 6:23, that the wages of sin is death, is borne in upon the soul. Condemnation rests upon the sinner. What hope, then, is there for sinful man? It is declared in the Gospel the glorious news that Christ, the spotless Lamb of God, came, He bled, He died. Thus, by shedding His own precious blood, He conquered sin. Man's responsibility now is his personal acceptance of this atoning work of Christ. When this step is taken and he places his faith in the finished work of Calvary, he shall be free from the law of sin and death, --Romans 8:2g for if the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. --John 8:36. Not only is there victory over sin through the shed blood but also over death, for death could not hold the Son of God. Up from the grave He arose, With a mighty triumph o'er His foes. And because He lives, we too, shall live. i Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same, that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil. --Hebrews 2:14. This is another blessed truth that Satan, God's arch enemy and the Christian's, has been defeated by the blood of the Lamb. No longer can he hold the one who is trusting in Christ in his powerg for the child of God rests in the victory of the cruicified risen Saviour. John tells us in his first Epistle that greater is He that is in you than he that is in Would you be free from your burden of sin? There s power in the blood' Would you o'er evil a victory win? There s wonderful power in the blood. Nellie A. Manley Rev. 12:11 llllxxs Q . ' KC , ! the world. K6 ! I I Y, -I' 24 H3
