UT God forbid that I should glory save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ by whom the world is crucified unto me and I unto the world. Galatians 6: 14 This is the verse around which the Class of 55 has endeavored to build its hopes and aims for life and service. 'They selected it as their Class Verse the day they were organized as Freshmen at The Practical Bible Training School. They desire above all else that the principles of this verse be found in the personal life of each individual member. And now they present the crowning product of their School Life together --1 1955 Theologue - built around this same blessed verse. It is the Q33 Place pj Exultation - But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross. The Class discovered that the I is emphatic, - regardless of what others do, lboast in but one thing, the Cross. So they made the pronoun personal and plural: God forbid that ig should glory, save in the Cross. It is the only place on earth where a believer can boast, exult, or glory . It is the -Q5 Place Q Reconciliation - save in the cross of our Lord jesus Christ. The Class also discovered this was not the literal cross of wood but, rather, the Cross of Christy not their suffering for Him, but!-IE sufferings for themg not what they might do for Him, but what lgalready had done for them there at Calvary. The atoning death, the shed Blood of the Lamb is the only means of reconciliation to a Holy God. It is the E Place Q Calculation - by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. Where else can I find a true measure by which I can calculate the real worth of things, than at the foot of the Cross of Christ? What does the world have, with all its glitter and pleasure, to offer in comparison to Him? What will I ever have to suffer for His Name in comparison to what He has suffered for my shame? The Cross of Christ Qi 'X stands between the Class of '55 and the things of the world. I take your stand at the foot of the Cross and say - I take O cross thy shadow For ny abidzng place I ask no other sunshine than The sunshine of His face Content to let the world go by To know no gain nor loss My sinful self my only shame My glory all the cross , , 1 ff MR and MRS M R PATTERSON We trust that, as you consider the message of this book, you too will ,I 'D A f fn! fn I !.
