The ' 'For the Lord God will help meg therefore shall 0 I not be con- founded: there- fore have I set my face like a M flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed. ' ' W I sa . 50: 7 6 V DR. JOHN A. DAVIS 'I' HE late, Dr. John A. Davis, founder of the Practical Bible Training School, was known to all as being out- standing in his sacrificial living. He, by the grace of God, learned what it meant to be all on the altar for His Master and His service. There was nothing in this material world that he would not relinguish if only the Lord would be glorified and honored. We saw this time and again in his work. It was especially proven when he and his family gave up their own home to save the School. There was nothing before him but the dedicated purpose to glorify His Lord and the training of 'Young people for the Gospel ministry. lf ever there was a man who knew the meaning of consecration, it was he. He, many times out of his own meager resources, would so unselfishly help those who needed it. He believed in the spiritual investment in the lives of the students. His devotion, courage, faith, deep consecration, liberality, and determination were a real challenge to all. His messages from Gocl's Word were power-packed by the Spirit of God. Many hundreds of Christian men and women are a living testimon today of his faithful ministry. lt is candidly to be stated, that as he preached, he llvecl-- A workman that neecfeth not to be ashamed. His labor of love and passion to help others carried him man times beyond his physical capacity. Many slee less nights he spent in prayer with the burden and concern he had for others. Many a student this day would not be in the ministry were it not for the many prayers, faith, and help from this man of God. This is a life that has been poured out on the altar of sacrifice and one of devotion and faithful service to our Lord. --Theodore Wimer ln loving memory of our Father, John A. Davis DR. and MRS. GORDON C. DAVIS I2
