To you, Mr. Nicklaus, we dedicate our annual--The Cruiser. This is d_one in appreciation of your twenty-two years of loyal service, guidance', and administration. SUPERINTENDENT PRINCIPAL Dear Students: I sincerely hope this year’s annual will carry its many memories for all of us. I congratulate the staff for the success of this publication. I will probably follow this year’s Senior class just a little closer than most graduating classes because of Margie, my daughter, being a member of the class. I wish you every success and hap- piness in the years to come. signed, Irwin Elder Superintendent, Principal M. Ed University of Oregon 26 years experience VICE-PRINCIPAL Dear Students: Your need as a voting citizen of the future reminds me of five words that start with the letter “A” which if administered in the proper dosage, help condition people to live in a hurrying society. These words are: AFFECTION, ACTIVITY, ACHIEVE- MENT, ACCEPTANCE, and APPRECI- ATION. It is my hope at this time that we have succeeded in this area as well as having prepared your minds with necessary ideas and knowledge for you to be a useful, respected citizen. signed, William C. CROSSMAN This has been the first year in a number of years that the Powers School Dis- trict has had a school bus. Our contract with the Don Green Transportation Company of Reedsport, Oregon provides transporta- tion from home to school and from school to activities. The bus has proven its worth many times over in athletic transportation and also in making it possible for different pep organizations to go to games as one group. It has almost entirely eliminated the use of private vehicles with the attending problems. Rev. Harold Crossman served as regular bus driver during the school year and Mr. Lloyd Keech as alternate. Both men have done an excep- tionally fine job. SECRETARY MRS. MINTONYE Our School Sec- retary, Mrs. Mintonye, serves as secretary to Mr. Elder, Superinten- dent and Mr. Patterson, Vice-Principal. Her major duties are: super- vision of bookkeeping for the student body, keeping cumulative and perman- ent records of students, writing correspondence, developing budget accounts and general office work. We owe a lot to Mrs. Mintonye for the fine job she does. CAFETERIA COOKS SITTING: Pearl Aubin, Vice-Chairman; Harold Ross, and Mrs. Georgia Brady, School District 31 Clerk.
