SENIOR CLASS HISTORY We entered Powers High School in the fall of 1957 with 37 members in our Freshman class. Two weeks later we were initiated by the Seniors and were the last class to have a week of initiation. We sponsored two booths at the annual school carnival. We spon- sored a class play called “Peck’s Bad Boy.” We went to the school picnic at Lake Cleawox. We started our Sophomore year with 32 merrtbers. Again we sponsored two booths in the school carnival. In December we pre- sented a class play called “The Antics of Andrew.” Due to rain we went to the school picnic held in the high school gym. In our Junior year we started with 27 members. This year we sponsored the school carnival. We had three members of our class on the Student Council. Our main event this year was the Junior Prom which was held in November with Lavender Blue as our theme. We also gave the Junior-Senior banquet honoring the Seniors in April and we decorated the gym for the Senior class graduation in May and we concluded the year by going to Lake Cleawox for the school picnic in June. We started our Senior year with 25 members and had a gradu- ating class of 23. We initiated the Freshmen one day during the third week of school. We have five members on the Student Council. We sponsored two booths at the school carnival. One of the athletes in our class was chosen to play in the East-West Shrine game and another was chosen on the All-State basketball team. We sponsored the Senior Ball in April with the theme “Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White.” The class rode on the mail boats to Agness on their skip day in May. Baccalaureate was held on May 21. Our graduation on May 26 in the high school gym finished our high school career.
