SENICIR CLASS PRGPHECY As I gaze into my crystal ball, a light cloud disappears and the class of '56 emerges in the year 1976. I can see Dona Anderson, first of all. The ball tells me that she is a school- teacher, and that she is teaching the Family Relations course in Seattle, Wash- inton. I see Betty Denniston. The crystal ball tells me that she is a journalist on the Los Angeles Daily Times. She is married and has four children. Next, I can see Sylvia Fry. She is a surgery nurse in Fairbanks, Alaska. She is married to a famous doctor. I can see Bill Goodman.. He is a deep-sea diver and is, at present, salvaging the Queen Mary, which mysteriously sank the year before. Leonard Grove appears next in my crystal ball as a wealthy cattle ranch owner in Wyoming. He is married and has six children. The crystal ball clouds for a minute, then Chuck Hackett appears dressed as a hermit. After fifteen years as a hermit he has decided to come back to civilization. He has been holed up in the Rocky Mountains. Nancy Hall appears next, and the mystic powers tell me that she is a successful chiropractor, is married, and has seven boys. Jack Thorp comes into view as the Mayor of Portland. He has held the same office for fourteen years. Then I can see Bill Walker. He has earned his third million and is well on the way to his fourth. He owns two oil wells: one in Texas, and one in Powers. I see Wallace Wooden in my crystal ball as a well-known chemist. He has won the Nobel Prize for contributing the most to science. My crystal ball couds over, but the mystic powers keep reminding me that we shall meet again. SENIIIB CLASS IIISTIIRY In September, 1952, we entered Powers High School with 25 members. We were initiated the 2nd week of school by the Seniors. We went to Battle Rock for our end-of-school picnic. In our Sophomore year we went to Lakeside for our picnic. In our Junior year we sponsored the all-school carnival in October. We had two members of our class as student body officers. In November, we sponsored a western dance for our Junior Prom. We sponsored the Junior-Senior Banquet in April which preceded the Senior Ball. We decorated the gym for graduation. We went to Rogue River on our picnic. In our Senior year we were very busy. We initiated the Freshmen the 3rd week of school. Four of our members were officers in the student body. We spon- sored the Senior Ball with In a Little Spanish Town as our theme. We attended the Junior-Senior Banquet which preceded the Senior Ball. We ended the year with 10 members. Now we have reached the final steps of our goal., The Baccalaureate Services were held May 13. And now the long-awaited Commencement Night is here. May we always remember Powers High School in the future. And now we all say, Goodbye.
