Class History Way back in the year 1950, we entered our Freshman year with eighteen students but lost several before the year was over. We were initiated by the Seniors during the second week of school. We sponsored the all school carnival. We went to Orchard Park for our picnic. Our Sophomore year we sponsored the Sadie Hawkins Dance and May Dance. We went to the Gaylord Park for class picnic. .. . The main events of our Junior year was the Junior Prom with Moonglow as our theme. Also the Junior-Senior banquet. It was given in the Home Economics room and was a formal affair We also decorated the gym for graduation. We went to KLe-a-wax Lake for our picnic. We started our Senior year with eight members but was soon Joined by one of our old classmates. We initiated the Freshmen in September. We sponsored the Sadie Hawkins Dance October 21+. The Juniors honored us with the traditional banquet on April 2lj.th, proceeding the Senior Ball, which we enjoyed very much. During our four years we many things. We made many new rules classmen. Our boys have excelled have done much to carry on the spirit. We had officers in the our Junior and Senior years. Three members of the band all four years. Now we are taking the final steps Our Bacculaureate services were held was May 19. And at last on May 21 the long awaited Commencement Night here. So now we say GOOD-BYE have accomplished to benefit the under- in sports. Our girls school activities and student body during of our girls were toward our goal. May 16. Class Day is POEM Here's a lad with hair of red. Bob Walker is his name. You'll find him mentioned. In Powers hall of basketball fame. Among the seniors we find a girl. That's editor of the annual clan. Everyone seems to like her. Her name is Madelon McMahon. Walt Jones is this boy's name. He's one of the class of '5l -» May he have happiness, Now and foreevermore. Here's a girl So full of fun. She is Yvonne McCulloch, With a smile for everyone. Willie Gibbs is the head of the class, He is the 'Sh gangs president. Whatever he may do in the future. May his time be well spent. This girl is a cheer leader. She's Ines Alawine. We give good wishes and success. To a girl who is so fine. The leader of our student body, A lad named Harry Adamek. We hope he goes far, With his wits as sharp as a tack. This girl answers to Gayle Sheedy, Shels a very good sport. And editor of our Hi-Lites Staff, Which we are very proud to report. Last but not least. Bill Thorp appears on the scene. We praise and thank him. For contributing to our Basketball team. As a parting word to the Class of 5lpmaay they have the best of Luck and success. Always remember Powers High, And live in complete happiness.
