EXCHANGE Welcome back. Pull up a glue pot and sit down, while I tell you about the latest adventures of yours truly in my wanderings through Power. I am the man responsible for the discovery of the black market ring operating in the cafe- teria. Imagine the nerve of those guys, offering to sell sugar for the coffee! What are they trying to do? Turn us in- to a bunch of softies? Who needs sugar? There hasn't been any of that stuff in Power since the hospital was here. fReally just kiddin'-ha ha, ulplj Theres a certain character down on the fifth floor who is constantly giving out with Cry He apparently hasn t suffered enough to be a great artist, but if we get our hands on him, well make it all up in a hurry By the way How about a warm welcome for the new Frosh? Dont forget to tell them about the smoking lounge, the swimming pool, and the overnight guest rooms But be kind to them Remember that you were a Freshman once or twice yourself Those poor February boys have a lot to learn such as the fact that they will not be tolerated above the third floor on any occasion except when accompa med by not less than three C31 Seniors, otherwise the school will not be responsi ble for their scalps How about some exchanges? I guess you re sick and tired of hearing me spout A bunch of germs were hitting it up In the bronchial saloon Two bugs on the end of the larynx IX ere Jazzing a rag time tune IX h1le back of the teeth in a solo game Sat dangerous Dan Ixerchoo, And watching his play was his light of love, The lady that's known as Flu. CThanks for that bit of Walt Whit- man goes to The Scholastic of Notre Dame.J Speaking of a solo game, who is the guy up on the sixth floor who has been rolling those loaded bones down the hall? Why all the gambling all of a sudden? Don't you earn enough selling homework? One sad guy who buys the contraband was heard chanting solemnly Twenty thlrd Psalm fBy a Physics studentj I have a Physics teacher, I shall not pass He maketh me to show my ignorance Before the whole class Yea though I walk through the valley of knowledge I do not learn He fireth questions at me In the presence of my classmates He Anolnth my head with problems, Nly eye runneth over Surely atoms and molecules Shall follow me all the days of my life, And I shall dwell in the Physics lab forever Anyone recognize that? Probably some of you were around when it was written It s a product of 10 years ago and ap peared in the P 81 G of April 3 1942 The locker situation IS getting very bad Theres six guys in ours and the last two to get there have to hang their coats on the outside I hear the Fresh men are having a lot of trouble also- ZO1 has been hiding their coats behind the History section in the Library Anyone wanting to take out 'The Life of William the Conqueror tin four volumesb, kindly watch out for the egg salad. A Sophomore was caught cheating on a Health exam-he was counting his ribs. Could he be the same fellow who was found PUTTING BACK sand- wiches in the cafeteria? Thats enough chatter, I'd better get back to my job. Did you hear .... Today's Weather Spring has sprung, Fall has fell IW inter s here and It s colder n usual Vi here did that come from? Search me Three Sophomores affectionately known to friends and classmates as Kukla Fran, and Ugly, are anxious to get in on my special free offer and are rushing upstalrs to the Press room right now They know a bargain when they see it' Remember opportunity knocks only once so hurry, and Come one come all to the Staff Room of this pubhca tion Be the first in your quarters to own a new 63 B C Catilinac chariot They come in four gaudia colors Allo broges Green jupiter Pink Cthis shade IS Stator and will not runj, Bennettian Blue and Henhan Red For this week only the horses will be in matching colors lNaturally all these models come equipped with Ciceratic drive To start, just a flick of the whip and off you go To stop merely throw a slave under the right wheel So hurry right down to the sign of the POW ER PANTHER where Wxlhus Gaynoricus, the smiling Etrurian, waits to serve you Remember he d give you the toga off Cicero s back' HARVEY By Tom Cadogan THERES Sckl tCND QFD MEM R oaco 'Nl F BRA?
