The SCA is the voice of the students at Powell Valley High School. The organization is always in- volved in many projects and events each year. This year we began by sending two of our members, Michelle Powers and Sherry Honeycutt, to a conven- tion at Ferrum College during the summer. They brought back new ideas for the year. We also wel- comed the faculty back to school with donuts and cof- fee on their first day. Our next big endeavor was Foot- ball Homecoming. We sponsored a week of contests and a Homecoming Carnival. The SCA sponsored the Homecoming Dance in honor of the Homecoming Queen, Tammy Cornett. During second semester the SCA once again controlled the Intramural Basketball Tournament. The last concerns were the orientation of rising freshmen and the induction of the 1986-87 officers and representatives. Our able sponsor was Mrs. Davene Long.
