SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS President Mike Buckles Vice-president Larry Begley Secretary Patty McKinney T reasurer Diane Carnes Sponsors Miss Faith Cox Miss Callie Darnell Miss Lora Dingus Mrs. Grace Rose Begley, Carnes, McKinney, Buckles CLASS HISTORY SENIOR 1969: A time for dreams, a time for reality ' , and a time for memories. From the time we entered Powell Valley High School as small, frightened Pee-dabs, we knew we had the dream of sen- iorhood to cherish. That first step in our time” ladder was probably the most confusing and yet it was so much fun. We had to become accustomed to changing classes, having several different teachers, attending and participating in assem- bly programs. Sometimes we felt as though we were lost in every aspect, but we conquered the transformation and knew we would fondly remember our year as sub-freshman. As we entered our treshman year, we felt more at home. This year we were more active in clubs and began to develop the leadership qualities of the class members who were to guide our class, the organizations, and the school during our climb to our dream. During our sophomore year, we were still having our time to dream. We had advanced to the Varsity Club with our own representatives to cheer those boys on; we began to grow in confidence and spirit as we re- alized we were very close to being upper classmen and meeting the challenge of the time for reality. The year of 1967 brought us only one step from our cherished senior status, but we enjoyed this last year of dreaming as much as possible. We were juniors — proud in every way. We had the spirit and the quality to make this the best junior class in the history of Powell Valley. Enthusiastically, we began our magazine campaign and sold more magazines than any class before us. When May came, we walked into the once gym and now fairyland of Love is a Many-Splendored Thing.” We were measured for our class rings and ordered our calling cards, realizing our dream time was over and reality only months away. The fall of 1968 — our time for reality. We had reached our goal. With pride, we took our front seats in the audi- torium. Before long, our class rings arrived and we were officially seniors. The months passed, and as we walked the halls, yelled at the ball games, and attended classes, we realized we were doing these things for the last time. Again May came and brought with it graduation — not graduation for those before us, but for us — the Class of 1969. Our time for dreams, our time for reality ' — in all of this, we had a time to laugh, a time to cry, a time to win, and a time to lose. Now we have our time to remember. 14
