A A Message to the Class of ’69 To everything there is a season, a time to every ' purpose, and for every occasion, words of advice to be offered. Seniors, thou knowest better than I that I am growing older. I ask to be kept from the fatal habit of thinking that I must say something wise on every occasion. Free me from the desire to straighten out all of your affairs. Give me the capacity to be thoughtful but not moody, helpful but not bossy. Miss Fraley returns . this time to teach. FACULTY MRS. FRANCES BOTTS, a graduate of the University of Tennessee, where she received a B.S. and a M.S. degree, teaches Science 8 and Home Economics E She sponsors a sophomore homeroom. MISS SARAH BROADWATER, who at- tended Virginia Intermont and has an A.B. degree from Hollins College, teaches Math 8, Algebra 9, geometry, and History 12. She sponsors a junior homeroom. MR. DON CAMPBELL, who teaches History 10 and geography, received a B.S. degree from East Tennessee State University. He is assistant varsity football coach and is varsity basketball and base- ball coach. MR. REX CARNES, who sponsors the SCA and a freshman homeroom, teaches History 8 and 11 and geog- raphy. He attended Swift Memorial Junior College and received an A.B. degree from LeMoyne College and a M.S. degree from the University ' of Indiana. MRS. ORPHA CHANDLER, who received a B.S. degree from Radford College, teaches physical education and health and sponsors the G.A.A. MR. JERRY CLARK, sponsor of the Key Club and a sub-fresh- man homeroom, received an A.B. degree from Milligan College and teaches English 8 and 12. MISS FAITH COX, guid- ance counselor, sponsor of a senior homeroom and co-sponsor of the VALHALLA, has a B.S. degree from Radford Col- lege and a M.A. degree from Appalachian State University. She teaches English 8 and 12. MR. WILLIAM CURRY, who has a B.S. degree from East Tennessee State University, teaches Distributive Education I and II and sponsors the D.E. Club. 8
