WE HONOR Mrs. Sam H. McChesney We, the 1964 VALHALLA staff, take this opportunity to pay tribute to Mrs. Sam H. McChesney, who through the years has contributed hours of instruction, kindness, understanding , and patience to the students she has taught. In a special way Mrs. Mac has played a unique part in helping an entire community learn to appreciate good music. During her years as band director she has watched a handful of interested students multiply. But it isn ' t just band size that has multiplied. Mrs. Mac ' s admirers have increased too. Her bands have won the respect not only of the laymen of the area but also of the Judges throughout the country. How did Mrs. Mac acquire this respect? We who have been close to her know the secret. She has demanded much from her students, but she has demanded even more from herself. Together with Mr. Mac, her late beloved Sam, she has left an indelible mark on the life of our community. As she retires, we wish her many more years of rewarding activities. 2
