The season officially opened against Thermopolis. The Bobcats lucked out an 18-19 win. The Panthers next rolled over Lander 15-13. The following Friday Powell went to Sheridan. Although the score was 6-13, Powell was the first team to score on Sheridan in 1953. Next on Powell's list was their old nemesis Greybull. The Buffs were defeated 34-6. The Panther Homecoming was celebrated by a 24-13 win over Riverton. Next Lovell bowed again to Powell in a 40-0 defeat. Worland handed Powell its second defeat of the season in a heartbreaking 2-13 score. The Panther's last game of the season was a 52-12 win over Cody.
