SLAVE DAY On September 20th, the Sophomore slaveship rolled into harbor at the PVHS gymnasium. It carried 17 prime freshmen to be sold by auction to their predecessors. One little sweetheart, Sue, sold for an unbelievable $15.50 and the sophomore class had taken in $94.75 when the bidding was complete. It is true our slave day carries little resemblance to a real slave sale (excited buyers often outbid themselves and slaves have as much fun as their masters) but nevertheless, each slave and each master went away feeling that the freshman class of 1978 had been properly initiated into the PVHS Student Body. Top Left: Lisa using a little friendly persuasion. Left Albert Garver, auctioneer. Bottom Left: David doesn't know what to think. Below: Carla and Shelley are cruel taskmasters.
