Dedication With a feeling of deep gratitude, the Yearbook Staff wishes to dedicate the 1960 BADGER to our Alma Mater, Powder Valley High School. From the outside, one can see the willow trees, the American flag and our beloved Beaver State flag, the tan brick walls, the high concrete steps, and the white fire escapes. The inside reveals the old clock in plain view from the front door, the darkly-seasoned hall floors, the worn steps, and the drinking fountains. The rooms are inviting as one looks in. The desks are marked and the pencil sharpeners are well used. But what does one feel as he sees these things? Every inch of this building holds a meaning for someone—every name scratched on the desks, every room holds the atmosphere of the years that one spent there—every mar and crack holds a laugh of the years gone by, or a tear of childhood fears and hurts. This building was built in 1916, which makes it forty-four years old. But to us, who have spent most of our lives in schooling, whose biggest memories have come from here, the building is ageless. As time progresses, a new building will be built near where this one stands, but always, we can think back to the old Powder Valley High School, our Alma Mater.
