Juniors The Junior class started a busy yeo with better-than-ever plans for making money. Concession stands, cake raffles, the selling of flower bulbs, work days, and class-sponsored dances were only a few proj- ects of the hard-working Junior class. Jeannie Huddleston, from Long Creek, Oregon, began her Junior year at Powder Valley High ond then transferred to Port- I a n d, Oregon during Christmas vacation. Bruce Christman transferred here from Baker, Oregon, for second semester. The Junior class advisors were Mrs. Gene Hammond and Mr. Marvin Vancil; car- nival princess was Ula Mae Tefft. Sophomores The Sophomore closs started the year with two new students, Paul Pearson and Danny Govor, both transfers from Baker, Oregon. Betty Rodgers, from New Mexico, joined thcSophomore class shortly before Christmas. The main event of their year was Fresh- man hazing, when they showed the upper- classmen that they were real PVHS'ers. The Sophomore boys were pallbearers for their classmate, Ross Chamberlain. The class advisor was Mrs. Osterloh; carnival princess was Jan Peters, who also was made queen.
