YITTVYY On the first day of school in 51 , 21 scared, green Freshmen stood at the foot of the high school stairs trying to get nerve and strength enough to go up. Finally, everyone made the climb. Sixteen of us attended grade school here, while the other five of us were strangers from Muddy Creek. We soon became friends and elected our class officers as follows: president, Cedric Christman; vice-presi- dent, Johnny Petersen; secretary-treasurer, Alice Loennig; reporter, Janet Galligan; sargent-at-arms, Boyd Marsing. Soon afterwards, the mean sophomores initiated us, and we became fullfledged Badgers. Our carnival princess was Donna Cox, and our homecoming princess, Janet Galligan. Mr. Zike was our advisor, and we had several parties during the year. Our second year, we entered school with much confidence and eager- ness—for this year we Initiated the Frosh. We lost Marsha Abbott, Larry Johnson, and Kemet Spence as they had transferred to other schools. Mrs. Duckett was our advisor. We elected Johnny Petersen as president; Doris Healey as vice-president; Janet Galligan as secretary; Betty Saling as treasurer; Alice Loennig as reporter; and Boyd Marsing as sargent-at-arms. Our carnival princess was Alice Loennig and our football queen was Janet Galligan . We sold flower bulbs and napkins, and had lots of candy sales as the next year we would need the money. The highlight of the year was the Christmas party at Galligan's. As Juniors we started the year off by being busy as we had to roll in the dough. The class officers were: president, Boyd Marsing; vice- president, Jack Daugherty; secretary, Doris Healey; treasurer, Betty Saling; reporter, Joan Galligan. Our class advisors were Mr. Ayres and Mrs. Wright. Janis Davis and Cedric Christman transferred to other schools and Curtis Tibbs transferred from Baker giving us a sum of 17 for the year. The class, having sold the most raffle tickets for the carnival, found Joan Galligan our queen. We had a St. Patrick's Day dance in Haines, sold Christmas cards, and had a turkey raffle to raise enough money for the prom. The Junior-Senior banquet was held in the Rose Room at the Hotel Baker. The theme of our prom was Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Larry Monaghan and Anne Bond were crowned king and queen for the night. We had many expedition parties which took us into the hills. This ended a year of hard work but one of loads of fun. As we started our last year of high school there were only 16 of us as Betty Saling had left. Mrs. Osterloh and Mr. Williams were the class advisors. The class officers were president, Larry Harrison; vice-president, Cheryl Heard; secretary, Curtis Tibbs; treasurer, Belva Maxwell; sargent-at-arms, Alice Loennig. This year the seniors were busy putting the Broadcaster and annual into circulation. Curtis Tibbs left school and Lorraine Christman was elected our new secretary. The annual Senior Ball was held in December. The theme was Northern Lights. The seniors enjoyed very much the Junior-Senior banquet and prom, senior sneak, and graduation.
