SOFTBALL ' ' 'l l Une Big Stride to Success NWhat can I say, we're awesome! was the general consensus on the Varsity Soft- ball team. Our defense was strong enough that with our accurate pitchers we could field almost anything! explained Mrs. Barker-Ball, the Varsity coach. Because the team was very young, consisting of mostly Sophomores and Juniors plus one Freshman and three Seniors, Jennifer Shuey saw that f'the Varsity team will con- tinue to be awesome in the coming years because most of us will be working and practicing for three yearsf, Another plus for the team was its over- whelmingly positive attitude. The basis for Mrs. B's philosophy was that 'fconstant communication will greatly improve the ef- fectiveness of each and will Jennifer Shuey mentally prepares for a hitting streak in the upcoming game. 284 Vorsity Softball strengthen the morale of the team. Heather Kritzer commented that, ffthe en- couragement was great, and when someone felt down because of a bad play, everyone helped bring her up! Debbie Guer- ena and Tiffany Schafer agreed foundations proved strong and extremely effective throughout the obvious in Lisa Palmer's observation that ifthe friendship on the team is so incredible that even if we lost the game, we ended up winningli' Q Lynell Stokes knows that reaching that extra inch can make the difference between victory defeat.
