INDUSTRIAL ARTS The ultimate goal of industrial arts education are essentially the same as those for general education. ln these courses special emphasis is placed upon the objectives of vocational education in the indus- trial arts program. The objectives are to develop skills and know- ledge in the use and care of tools, machines, and equipment. These skills are used in planning, design- ing, and making of functional pro- jects, or repairs. The results give per- sonal satisfaction and develop an understanding of how these skills are used in the industrial world and the job opportunities in this field. Students develop some skills and knowledge of the use of work experience as it applies to industry, with special emphasis upon techni- cal application of these skills and knowledge to the phase of our industrial society, Gardner, Richard Hawkins, Clete Roybal, Ted Wood, Dennis 4
