COMMUNICATION ARTS The Communication Arts Department of Poway High offers students a wide range of courses in the area of communication. The curriculum is balanced in all areas of literature, writing, speech, and drama. Additionally, a yearly literary magazine, IVIUSE, spotlights the best poetry and prose produced by Poway students during the previous year. The course-offerings are, for the most part, small group oriented, although occasional lectures or large group meetings are planned, wherein several classes may benefit from hearing a guest speaker or seeing a film. Freshmen, this year, are required to take English 200, which is a combination of composition and literature. The sophomores take normal 10th grade classes: oral communications and composition. Juniors and seniors, as always, enrolled in English related subjects of their choice. The department chairman this year is lVlr.
