VARSITY SOCCER Under the direction of Coach Robert Champion, Poway's first year Varsity Soccer Team made a shambles of the Avocado League. The Titans overpowered the league while compiling a 13-0-1 record and outscoring their opponents 48-4. They finished a full four games ahead of second place San Dieguito. The Titans leading scorer, Roberto Caicedo, was named Player of the Year by the Ieague's coaches. Poway also dominated the All-League selections. First Team Forwards-Roberto Caicedo and Jon Arthur' Halfback-Brad Perry: Fullbacks-Bob Chrivia and John Chrivia: Utility Player-Marc Praterelli. Rick Caicedo and Brian Miller received honorable mention, Caicedo led the Titans scorers with 20 goals and 9 assists, for 29 points. Jon Arthur had 9 goals and 16 assists for 25 points, Allen Cox had 12 points and Brad Perry had 11. They ended up with a 17-2 record overall and 10-2 in the league. Their greatest victory was their final one over league champion Fallbrook 9-8. This was the first loss for the Fallbrook J.V. in two years of competition. The J.V. style of play was one of quickness and tremendous offensive team play. Man for man the starting J.V. team was faster than the varsity squad for pure speed. All the starters were freshmen and sophomores so the future looks bright for Poway's water polo.
