Bamcf of Ziucalian HE PARAMOUNT interest of this year's Board of Education, composed of Dr. James E. McCambridge, president, Mrs. E. Sterling Carter, Mr, Henry Daniels, Mr, Erank J. DeGilio, lvlrs. Arthur Handley and Mr, Morris Effron, who was appointed by Mayor Doran at the expiration of the term of Mr. Henry Daniels, a competent member of the Board since l935, has been the program for a new high school, The members have worked with the General Citizen? Committee on the choosing of a site for the new building and are now applying to the Division of Community Service of the Federal Works Agency for funds with which to prepare plans. They hope within a short time to bring the choice of building a new h'gh school to the refer- endum of the people of Poughkeepsie. Although we who are graduating in l947 will not have the opportunity to enioy the facilities of a new building, we are deeply indebted to the capable citizens who have been members of this year's Board for the interest which they have taken in all of us, and we feel confident that at last Poughkeepsie will have a high school of which we all can be proud before --.f ery many years have elapsed,
