The 1988 graduating class was also the first class to raduate under House Bill 72 policies. They were also the first lass to vote not to have a graduation speaker then repeal their ecision later and invite a speaker to their afternoon raduation. They were also the first class to have the ppiortunity to graduate under the advanced program of :u ies. In addition this freshman class is the last class to be exempt from writing an essay on the exit level TEAMS test. And we went to school on a Saturday to make up for a day missed to a snow storm. This was also the first time the Middle School and High School both graduated in the Grayson County College auditorium on the same day. Eighth grade graduated at 10:00 in the morning, and the seniors graduated at 2:00 that afternoon. ielow Left: Mandy and Lorna Bates performed twirling routines for the high school pep rallies. Pottsboro got a new Mitchell's supermarket and a new Dairy Queen, and moved the city limit to the front gate of Simmons Shores. As the size of Pottsboro town grew, the population of Pottsboro ISD grew. Willow Springs campus remained open for three very large kindergarten classes. Each campus gained a portable building to be able to accommodate such a large number of students. And when the results of the semi-annual district realigning came in, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. PHS had remained in AA classification by a small handful. Right: Elementary students from all grades get together to do jumping jacks for the P.E. show. Then there were always the latest fads and fashions. One popular one with the seniors, especially on Senior Spirit Day, was boxer shorts over long johns. People bought jeans with holes already in them and wore different colored shoes on each foot. Tails were done away with and longer bangs emerged on the guys. Girls began showing up in mini-skirts, and the peace emblem and denim jackets were back. Top Right: The cheerleaders gave the football team balloons for their accomplishments during the play-off season.
