FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA . . . Some of us think this word means raising farm animals for shows. This is not true. Even though F.F.A, deals with animal and crop produc- tion, leadership and cooperation are also learned along with mechanics. Pottsboro F.F.A. did great this year, Duwane Burns walked away with Grand Champion and 540,000 with his hog at the Houston Livestock Show. Among some of the other win- ners at various shows were: Brian Kent, Steve Smith, Mike Dobbs, and Stephen Tucker, A. Vernon, Tyson. and Ratliff work on a barrel in the shop. B. Scarlet Strutter Drill Team 'LI.eft, left, left-right-left - Those words were heard quite often on the foot- ball field each Thursday afternoon. The Scarlet Strutters worked long and hard each afternoon in preparation for Friday night's game. Strutter officers attended camp at East Texas State Unviersity in June and then returned to a camp at Pottsboro in August where the entire Drill Team learned routines for the upcoming season. Mrs. Peggy Dillman, Strutter sponsor, worked hard, as well, in preparing the SM! Strutters for a successful season. The hard work and dedication paid off as the Strutters last routine, a jazz to Operator, was performed in Mrs. Dillmanls honor. A. Shannon Seat anxiously awaits the start of the game. B.
