Annual Staff Changing publishers, a large rookie class, and financial means plagued the 1985 cardinal staff. With a class of 4 returning members from last year's staff, and 24 new members Mrs. Felecia Garvin had to begin with the basics of yearbook production. This posed a problem for everyone involved. Fun raisers were a major issue. The fund raisers included a spook house in the Halloween Carnival and a bake sale. Another major source of revenue was the selling of ads. The staff also changed publishers from a Kansas Company to Taylor Publishing, in Dallas. Though the staff had to overcome a Fall delivered book there were several new additions. The adding of color in the opening section and new advertising techniques were only a few changes. A, Annual staff members choose pictures for their layouts. B. FH Promotes Fund-raisers An officer's induction, held at Hoot's, started off the 1984-1985 FHA school year. Among the topics covered at the monthly meetings were: a session on gymercize, in which members par-. ticipatedg a crafts exhibitiong a segment on preventing childnapping, in which two Grayson County Sheriffs deputies spoke to the members. Other events included were a discussion on drugs entitled Up From Under, and a Christmas dinner that was held in the High School cafeteria. National FHA week tFeb. 11-16 involv- ed various activities, including: a surprise cake, which raised S70.00, a pizza party, a visit to the Care Inn in Denison, carna- tion sales, which raised 515000, Val Pal day, and a taco dinner. The FHA sold Tom Watt kits during November and raised S1,500.00. In addi- tion members participated in making a 30 foot banana split, which was a treat for all members.
