What! Pep Rallies from 12:00 to 12:3O. This cry was voiced by irritated students as football season started the first week of school. But with the changes that occurred this year the Varsity cheerleaders did not have problems keeping school spirit alive. This year, the girls worked extremely well together con- stantly thinking of ideas to promote spirit for both football and basketball teams. The squad consisted of Angie Morris, Kel- ly Mitschele, Susan Williams, Rhonda Hensley, Suzette Tignor, Tammy Dutton, and Jennifer Guilloud. They could not in- terrupt classes to sell ribbons, except dur- ing activity period, and could not lead yells between classes on Fridays. In addi- tion to these changes the girls were able to come up with stunts that involved both Varsity and J.V. cheerleaders and skits that involved the football players. These activities were built around the numerous hours of painting signs and run throughs. During the summer, the squad attend- ed camp at ETSU in Commerce, winning the spirit stick one night and three superior and three excellent ribbons. A. Guilloud, late elected mascot, portrays spirit. B, Cheerleaders practice the mirror F stunt. C. The squad gives undivided attention at camp. D. Varsity cheerleaders learn cheers at summer camp, F. Mor- ris and Mitschele lead yells at pep rallies. G. Girls perform stunts in pep rallies. H. The squad yells and forms the Fan stunt in the pep rally. l. Hensley, Mitschele, Williams demonstrate 3 man stunts.
