Hite Crowned Homecoming Queen Senior Valerie Hite was chosen Homecoming Queen for the 1984 foot- ball season during the pregame festivities of the Whitesboro game played at the Jim Henderson Memorial Stadium.. She was escorted by senior co-captain Wallace Lewis. Hite was a two year member of the Scarlet Strutters, serving as officer for one year. She was junior A. The nominees with their escorts during the pregame festivities. B. Nominee Fratto smiles while standing with escort Short. C. Lewis prepares to give Queen Hite the traditional kiss. D. Clark and escort Day await the announcing of queen. E. Queen Hite sits back to enjoy the game. F. Co- captains Day, Short, and Lewis line up to escort the nomineees. G. Butts and Perdue drive the nominees to the field. H. Perdue assists Hite to the field. I. Clark awaits for the pregame festivities to begin. J. Fratto glows with excitement. K. She is also a member of FHA. Other nominees were seniors Nancy Clark and Julie Fratto. Clark and Fratto were escorted by senior co-captains Gary Day and Randy Short. The coronation flowers, provided by the Pottsboro Athletic Booster Club, were carried by senior Melanie Rhoades and senior Terry Sturgill carried the tradi- tional crown. Escorting the nominees from the car were Robert Butts and Tim Perdue, both seniors. Cardinal pride supplied the students with high energy and spirit during this years football season. Wild hats, red and white balloons, and painted signs started the year off with an enthusiastic outlook for the rest of the year's coming events. The showing of Cardinal spirit was limited for the active fans because of the new state law - no interruption of classes. But this did not stop the spirit from showing through during Friday pep rallies. A. Allen Sosebee takes an interest in school spirit on Cowboy day. B. Freshmen strive to win spirit stick. C. Football guys are suckers for the camera. D, Determination showed by Fish to win over-all spirit, E. Senior guys show brighter side of pep ral- ly. F. Together as a team - joining hands, Seniors show a side during last pep rally that Pottsboro has never seen. G. This giant fly swatter resembles that everything is big in Pottsboro.,H. Adam Rogers shows his outstanding ability to be a cheerleader. I. Kelly Cassell shows her pride for the Cardinals. 11
