One-Act Play Overcoming numerous obstacles, in- cluding illness, lack of place to practice, and injuries, this year's one-act play, AND JACK FELL DOWN, again found out that the bluebonnets were lovely in Austin. The cast of Adam Rogers, Jody Melton, Katy Reed, Susan Williams, Jil Kirby, and Jennifer Johnson won awards each time they performed but overall worked together as an ensemble. Directed by Connie Cassell, lighting by Mike Slevin, and sound by Kelly Cassell along with the cast, made friends with whomever they met. - Advancing to state with district rivals, Howe, these students cheered both schools on encouraging to perform to their best potential. A. AND JACK FELL DOWN, one act play. B. Williams relaxes after an exhausting day at Regionals. C. Melton, Rogers, and Reed open the play. D. Cassell, Kirby, Johnson, and Reed pose for the camera. E. Girls Track Hard work and dedication paid off for ten members of the Varsity girls track team as they qualified for regionals in all running events. Coming in 2nd behind Howe for the team championship, the Lady Cardinals placed 1st in 9 out of 10 running events and 2nd place finishes in 3 events. First place finishers were the 400 and 800m relay teams of Suzette Henderson, Kelly Mitschele, Jennifer Guilloud and Elaine Marshall, Marshall in the 100m hurdles, Christi Brewton in the 800m run, Jennifer Lawrence in the 1600m run, An- drea Logsdon in the 400m dash, Mitschele in the 200m dashg Amy Lawrence in the 3200m run and the mile relay of Robin Barrett, Henderson, Guilloud, and Logsdon. Second place finishers were Nora Carettini in the 100m dash, Brewton in the 1600m rung and J. Lawrence in the 800m run. Others placing at district were Mitschele, 3rd - high jump, Marshall, 5th - long and triple jump, Lynette Brooks, 5th - shot put, Kelly Cassell, 6th - 100m hurdles and Lori Arnett, 4th - 800m run and 5th -8 1600m run.
