New Uniforms Arrive For l-lorriecoming The Homecoming weekend was a very memorable time for the band. The new uniforms arrived by special courier and the band was able to perform in them for the first time homecoming. The Cardinal band also participated in various march- ing contests. The contests were Van Alstyne, Farmers- ville, and the U.l.L. Contest in Mesquite. They also per- formed with the drill team during the year. In addition the band was in three parades including Pottsboro where they won 2nd placeg Sherman, and the Denison Christmas Parade. ln the spring they attended a U.l.L. Concert Contest held at Richland College and received a division four rating. A. Pottsboro High School marching band participates in the U.l.l.,. Contest at Mesquite. B. 2 Strutters Kick-Cff 82 - 83 'Year The Scarlet Strutters were spectacular this year. Lead- ing their way into district the Strutters received all one ratings the highest award, in props and high Kicks. ln officer competition and jazz they received all two's. The officers of the Strutters this year were Kier Coff- man, Angela Dillard and Valerie Hite. The Strutters were able to raise money this year by selling candy bars. They also participated in the Potts- boro Christmas parade in which they came in first place and received a cash prize. A.
