FFA Enter Livestock Shows . Future Farmers ot America had many activities to keep them busy this year. Wood working skills were learned at the beginning ot the school year. These skills were then applied to the gym bleachers that were burned in last year's fire. Toward the end ot the year FFAers learned to weld. These skills were also put to use on various school projects. Cows were clipped and pigs were washed and groomed in order to get them ready tor the numerous livestock shows this year. Students participated in Hous- ton, San Antinio, McKinney and the Loy Lake Livestock shows. FFA members worked hard preparing for these shows and have had many accomplishments this year. A. New Uniforms Arrive For l-lorriecoming The Homecoming weekend was a very memorable time for the band. The new uniforms arrived by special courier and the band was able to perform in them for the first time homecoming. The Cardinal band also participated in various march- ing contests. The contests were Van Alstyne, Farmers- ville, and the U.l.L. Contest in Mesquite. They also per- formed with the drill team during the year. In addition the band was in three parades including Pottsboro where they won 2nd placeg Sherman, and the Denison Christmas Parade. ln the spring they attended a U.l.L. Concert Contest held at Richland College and received a division four rating. A. Pottsboro High School marching band participates in the U.l.l.,. Contest at Mesquite. B.
