Losing only one district game, the team finished behind Whitewright. The eighth graders, through the coaching of Bo Jones and Gary Clements posted a 6-1-0 district record. Varsity Girls End In Second Place Despite numerous injuries the Varsity Girls basketball team finished with an impressive district record of 2nd place and a season record of 14-11. Nagging injuries plagued the Varsity Girls basketball team with senior Shelly Shires ending up in the hospital with a foot infection. The team closed the first round of district play with a 5-4 record and 10-11 for the season. The girls compiled 308 total points during this round. Second round action ended with a 30-20 victory over the Van Alstyne Panthers. The Cards finished district play behind Lindsay with a 10-4 mark. A.
