The changing of the guard began last summer and continued until mid-October. Linsteadt was replaced by Grendel Garvin, Smallwood by Foret, Cox by Jones, Crenshaw by Peterson by Day by Shaddix, Williams by Peterson, Cox ll by Day, and Barre by Roberts. Though they were new, it did not take long for them to learn. Many were thrust into extra- curricular activities. Our one act play directors had some experience, but our yearbook sponsor, UIL speech, newspaper and Scarlett Strutter advisors were rookies. Often frantic, they learned with their students. They soon rid themselves of questions like What's a quad pak'? , How do you choose a selection'? , How does this printer work'? , and Where's the tape recorder?,' A. Dorris Shaddix, librarian, surveys her noisy study hall. B. Electronic games and game rooms filled with fun took minds off of studying especially before school, during lunch, after school, and even during English classes. The blips and bleeps may have driven some teachers crazy, but to some students it's better than reading a library book! mo are you going ouf wim T-Jriduy? HI thought that was over. This may have been true of some students, but others chose a safer route - some decided to go together. They walked down the hall together, hid in each other's lockers and talked. ln many cases this year, all this talking led to something more permanent than going steadyw A marriage. A. A little extreme, maybe, but such is the plight of the Pottsboro Independent School District. To remedy the space problem, voters decided to pass a bond election providing for new facilities. A new gym, junior high, administration offices, a high school cafeteria and four high school class rooms are soon to go under construction. As it is impossible to record every variation in each individual in 184 pages, we have tried to capture the essence of change. The Cardinal staff proudly presents Changes - 1981. A.
