Grade School Students Receive . .ff UIL Trophy Pottsboro's Junior High and Elementary UIL captured the first place title by accumulating 108 points at the district meet held at Austin College. The team narrowly edged out Howe who finished with 104 points. V Dedication, practice and long hours of iii W y T studying contributed to the team's success. I Sponsors and students gave up their lunch periods in order to practice for the meet. A. John Flanagan works diligently on his number sense problems. B. Junior High Student Council Active in School Affairs Junior High Student Council members got involved in many activities this year. They entered a float in the Denison Christmas Parade, helped raise money for the Pottsboro Park by providing their services at the Chili Supper, and sponsored two booths at the PTO Halloween Carnival. The money earned was used for Student Council parties and school improvement projects. Mrs. Willa Dean Smith sponsored the organization. A. Student Council members enjoy being in the annual Denison Christmas parade. B. Mrs. Smith assists Roger Henson and Brett Graham in leading a Student Council meeting. C. Showing his political abilities, Brett Graham campaigns for the position as Student Council President. D.
