JH Band Prepares for Future Performances Learning the basics of music and getting the feel of competition, this year's junior high band has increased its knowledge of music under the guidance of Gary Mosse. The most outgoing junior high band members were rewarded with a trip to San Antonio with the high school band. A. PHS Band Strives For Excellence Band students work very hard for the John Philip Sousa award, the highest band award given at PHS. This award is presented to one member during the spring concert each year. The recipient must have a good attitude and have shown steady progress throughout the year. A. Homemaking Skill 'T 1 Participants in FHA have learned that there is more involved in the organization than learning how to cook and sew. Members have enjoyed many fun activities such as a Dallas shopping spree and the adventures of having a Val-Pal during FHA week. In addition to having a good time, FHAers have helped others by sponsoring a cake walk for the PTO carnival and by preparing a Christmas dinner for the high school teachers and staff. A. Angela Flanagan demonstrates how to tape up a Val-Pal's locker. B. Susan Mollenhour and Tammy Wade discover that eating at a restaurant in Dallas can often be interesting. C. FHA advisors, Mrs. Guilloud and Mrs. Manning, assist Lisa Kennon and Kathy Allison in counting the profits A earned from the PTO Carnival. D. Members enjoy a ' luncheon held at the end of FHA week.
