Strutters Find Success Under New Leadership Lift those feet. . . point those toes . . . and remember . . . SMILE! These words are often spoken by the Scarlet Strutter Drill Team officers and are echoed from the PHS gymnasium walls as the Strutters prepare for their next performance. Although the Scarlet Strutters' leadership and line members were partially inexperienced, the team never stopped dazzling audiences with their half-time, Spring Show and parade performances. This year the team experienced two significant changes in leadership. Due to the absence of the newly elected captain, each lieutenant was moved up one place in rank, leaving Brenda Betts as Captain, Cheryl Wright as lst Lt., Debbie Edwards as 2nd Lt., and Tina Hagood as 3rd Lt. The Strutters also obtained a new sponsor, Mrs. Leigh Ann Jones. A. Freshman, Sadie Lewis sells candy to Danette Fulenchek to finance the Spring Show. B. Scarlet Strutters take a break while practicing a disco s...e..--- routine. C. Captain Brenda Betts performs a jazz routine during a pep rally. D. 1980-81 officers are Tina Hagood, Brenda Betts, Debbie Edwards, and Cheryl Wright. F. Tonya Baker, Tammy McKeefer and Beth Norris perform a clown routine for the Homecoming game. E. Strutters Host 'Fantastic Voyage The Scarlet Strutters took approximately two hundred people on a fantastic voyage during its two night spring show, held May 15-16th. A.
