Kindergarten Introduced to School Life Don't you want to go to school? asks a loving mother. The answer may be yes, but once the child is turned over to the kindergarten teacher the answer becomes a violent and teary, No! Once the child has accepted this new aspect of civilization known as school, the kindergarten teacher's main challenge is to help the children learn how to learn. Students are taught the abc's, numbers, colors, shapes, sounds, and chismbop, a new idea in math. By the end of the year each beginning student will be able to recognize and write letters and numbers. Field trips are an added feature of this new wonderous world. These trips are also very helpful in teaching. This year kindergarten students toured a post office, airport, and fire station. Students also attended the Loy Lake Livestock Show in Denison and had a year end picnic. As time goes on, the new students acquire a sense of belonging. Later in life school and summer become the only existing seasons. A. Matt Preasley enjoys his classwork. B. Brandon Kent colors in his spare time. C. David McKinstry, Benji Owens, and Robert Griffitt take pride in their drawings. D. Tracy Hardenburg listens to her teacher while pasting pictures. E. Debra Rapp, Jamie Shock, Barney Strawn, and Richey Logan put up their school boxes and await anxiously for the lunch ,,,..., A.. tllw I ,Q . .
