Where is your informative speaker? . . . We haven't got one. . . . Persuasive'? . . . Nope, . . . On the afternoon of April 1, these questions rang through the minds of UILers around the district Scoreboards at Grayson County College. We took second in literary but first in the spring competition, due to points gained by spring sports. Three students advanced to state competition. In earlier sports events, PHS teams won six first place district titles, finishing second or third in all other sports. A. Shelly Underwood shows off her S10 dollar prize for an ETSU poetry contest. 54 PJHS Students Graduate Get those lines straight. Don't fan yourselves with the programs. These were orders that the eighth grade class received prior to graduation, May 26. The ceremony was held in the Pottsboro gym as 54 students graciously accepted their diplomas. The Cardinal Band provided the processional and recessional music. For entertainment during the course of the ceremony, eighth grade students displayed their abilities. A poem entitled t'Tomorrow was read by its author, Nancy Clark. Jo Helen Branham, PTO president, presented cash awards to Valedictorian Julie Fratto and Salutatorian Kendra Fulenchek. Following the benediction, the new high school students eagerly left the gym with thoughts of escaping the binds of formal clothes and the joy of eating pizza. A. This might have been heard often in the gym crowded with physical education classes and the Scarlet Strutters. So what goes much to the members dismay? Drill team has been put on hold as a class time activity. Its anxiously awaited return may occur with the arrival of the new gymnasium, provided for in the fall bond election. jigllfff if again . . . 89.999, 0116 111018 time, 1066221, that's not right, 90.135,'I'm an honor graduate! Once again, there was the last minute tension as the graduating senior's averages were figured to determine honor graduates, salutatorian and valedictorian. The faces changed, but the agony of the 89.999 still marked uncertainty for a few. The class of 1981 marked the largest group of honor graduates from PHS. A. Donna Tol thinks May 27 will never co1ne. l'm.Mark Price, Bob Miller, and teammates rellect on the season during the last pep rally. C.
