J.V. Boys Win District The 1980-81 Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Team won the District Championship with a 6-1 District mark. The Cardinals season record was 16-5 and the team played in two tournaments. They placed first in the Pottsboro tournament and second in the Van Alstyne tourney. is Coach Bill Crenshaw's team was helped 2 'lf tremendously by Barney Frazier and Eddie Steward. Frazier was ineligible for Varsity because of the UIL transfer rule. Frazier led the Cards with a 20.2 points per game average in district and a 17.3 average for the season. Freshman David Barrett had a 10 point game average and Philip Burks had a 6 point per game average. A. Coach Bill Crenshaw discusses the game plan with the team 0- ' during a time out. B. Eighth Grade Boys EK Take Dlstrlct Crown The District 14AA Championship was captured by the eighth grade boys basketball team under the guidance of Coach Gary Clements. Many hours of hard work and dedication contributed to the 9-2 season record for the team. Leading scorers were Randy Short with a 10.1 average and Adam Rogers, 6.5. A.
