J.V. Girls End With Strong Season Long hard hours of practice resulted in the Junior Varsity Girl's Basketball team's District Championship. The team posted an 11-3 season. The Cardinals set the winning pace early in the season by taking first place in the Pottsboro tournament. The girl's team easily out-distanced Aubrey 38-18 in the finals. Early in district play the girl's were defeated by the Lindsay Knights with a score of 34-32. This was the Cardinal's only district loss. The latter part of the District season was a great success. The Cardinals defeated all the remaining opponents by a combined margin of 79 points. Team work and a positive attitude were the contributing factors to the girl's successful season. A. ' 'Wu 8th Grade Girls Finish Season 8-6 The eighth grade girls basketball team fought a tough season finishing 8-6. The team took third place in the Whitewright tournament where Angela Dillard and Shelly Barrett averaged 6.8 points per game, while Nancy Clark maintained a 6.2 average per game. A.
