Take All-District Honors 'W -we C . The 1979 Pottsboro Cardinal Football season began with the Cardinals being picked to finish dead last in District 14 A They returned 22 starters but they came from a 2 8 team The season began slow as the Big Red picked up only one win in its first four games Then the team began to pick up steam and rolled over its next five opponents before losing in their final game against Pilot Point which was for the district title. Many goals were attained in 79. The Cardinals set a new school record for team interceptions with 25 while Stacy Little set an individual record with 8. Eight members of the team received post-sea- son all-district honors including the entire offensive line. Among the nine offensive selections, three were for first team: Guard, Randy Glascockg Halfback, Jack Gainesg and Quarterback, Leslie Love. Among the six defensive selections were first team Line- backer Kyle Flesher, and Noseguard Richard Brown. The 1979 Cardinals displayed an abundance of character by attaining a 6-3-1 record and finishing third in district. A. Kyle Flesher and Randy Glascock converge on a Howe ball carrier. B.
