A Varsity Squad Member Must Have Spirit, Diligence, and Perseverance Dedication could be used as a key word to describe the 1979-80 Varsity Cheerlead- ers. Cheering, promoting school spirit, and motivating team support are required of the squad. The squad cheers at Varsity football and basketball games, and pep rallies. Hard work and long hours are put in by each girl to paint signs, make run-throughs and sell ribbons. Many hours are spent at P.H.S. decorating the halls and field house, prac- ticing, surprising the football team, and keeping everyone fired up! This year the girls tossed complimentary footballs sponsored by State National Bank of Denison to the audience. A. Captain Cheri Price, Co-Captain Kaye Hamilton, Robin Short, Kelly Fox, Kelly Fratto, and Janet Butler make up the Varsity Cheerlead- ers.
